From Russ Dodd, print production specialist, regarding the portrait of French choreographer, Patrick Delcroix shown left. (link)

"The interesting aspect (for me) of your new portrait is the subject. So many photographers are trying to create edgy looking images with post production and you have created a soft but edgy image. The face structure and whiskers are really nice. As far as the color goes, my eye is drawn entirely to the subject and so the color works entirely on a subliminal basis and it is not the dominant component of the photo for the viewer. And that is a good thing as it is working in support of the content."

Ideas on Simplicity

Strength in an image comes not from layers of complexity but rather from ever deepening levels of simplicity. I believe that behind every effort is an individual - be they designer, engineer, line worker - end user. In their faces, we glimpse the rich and beautiful story of being human. It is this underlying and hidden architecture of life with which try to build my pictures.
